The Position
This position focuses on the development and implementation of innovative and fit for purpose sourcing strategies, external partnerships, and robust supplier management as well as the coordination of external events and the management of the Tokyo office (facilities).
Responsibilities
Procurement Support
Responsible for Sourcing & Procurement of Indirects/Services for Japan market – ensuring stewardship of the external supply base that supports the company’s business including cost, risk, compliance, and supplier innovation.
Understand local supply market, business practices, laws, regulations and policies and drive the application of world class procurement practices and ensure that sustainable value is created for the business and company customers
Collaborate with global, regional, & local stakeholders to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans as well as to ensure alignment on key initiatives and priorities
Manage relationships with suppliers and monitor key supplier performance against business requirements
Day-to-day responsibilities include establishing category strategies, performing sourcing events/RFPs, developing and managing contracts, managing Supplier Relationships and monitoring Procurement performance including savings, supplier diversity and working capital
Commercial Support
Responsible for the coordination of Internal and External Meetings including Meeting-agency management, Meeting compliance (benefits) monitoring and Meeting Policy management and adherence
Responsible for the office-Management including Facility management (collaborate with service provider to maintain office facilities and infrastructure), Space-planning (organize effective use of office space, optimizing the arrangement of desks and meeting rooms), Safety management (update policies and procedures to ensure safety and hygiene within the office) and Office supplies management
Support car-fleet management. Support the operational staff and serve as the escalation point to resolve issues, coordinate with vendors to ensure smooth operation of company vehicles, manage car-ordering and replacements
Required Education, Experience and Skills
10+ years Procurement working experience – with strong market-knowledge across indirect categories and experience working in an international and cross-functional environment
Strong category-management, sourcing, contract-negotiation & Supplier Relationship Management skills
Advanced ability to partner, collaborate and impact decisions at all levels within and outside the organization
Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and find innovative solutions whilst working in an ambiguous, transformational business environment
Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
Creative, self-starter and bias for action.
Japanese and English language fluency
