Functional (job responsibilities)
- Lead and support the conduct of risk-based audits in accordance with the financial year’s Audit Plan to assess the bank’s adherence to internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in all phases of the audit cycle, including planning, fieldwork, and the validation of corrective action plans to ensure risks are effectively mitigated.
- Maintain high quality working papers for assigned audit segments, ensuring they meet the standards set by the Group Internal Audit Methodology.
- Prepare initial drafts of audit findings for review by the Audit Lead within the given timeline.
- Perform risk assessment of audit entities.
- Support the development of risk monitoring dashboards to help the team track changes in regulatory risk trends.
Managerial (team/group responsibilities)
- Independently manage personal audit timelines and provide consistent status updates to the Audit Lead to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Ensure working papers are documented in compliance with the Group Internal Audit Methodology.
- Promptly identify and escalate audit roadblocks or technical difficulties to the Audit Lead/ Head of Audit to prevent delays in delivery.
Organizational (organizational responsibilities)
- Promote a robust culture of compliance and ethical conduct by providing value-added recommendations to business units.
- Ensure all audit activities contribute to the consistent application of the Group Internal Audit Methodology.
- Maintain professional and independent views to provide senior management and regulators with objective assurance.
Jobholder Requirements
- Malaysian citizen.
- Must be prepared to travel overseas, as and when required.
- Degree holder in Accounting, Business or equivalent professional certification (s) related to the role, e.g.,CIA and ACAMS.
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in audit, compliance, or related control or risk functions.
- Good understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulatory frameworks.
- Relevant knowledge and experience in risk and control functions, ability to understand and draw process flows, challenge the set up and identify weaknesses effectively.
- Effective communication skills, proactive and strength in sustaining independent views.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Team player and ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members.
- Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic audit task and ad-hoc reviews.
