Supply Chain professionals from Laakdal, Belgium, Los Angeles to Memphis, Tennessee, make it happen. They constantly push for ways to make Nike’s supply chain faster, more efficient, and more responsive to Nike’s always-changing consumer needs.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an Assistant General Manager of our fulfilment network. You will lead a team of Operations Directors in continuous improvement that fuel Nike’s supply chain in North America. You will be responsible for the performance of the operations and drive the development of your Nike team members.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will work cross-functionally to implement strategic plans for the DC and have accountability for year over year improvements in capacity, service, and cost. You'll participate in and influence Nike Supply Chain and Operations Logistics Strategy agendas from a Distribution perspective and communicate and coordinate distribution initiatives. You'll increase visibility of Distribution through effective communication methods.

  • You will support the development and implementation of the annual operations business plan to align with regional and global logistics objectives.
  • You'll implement innovative processes and procedures that will champion improvement of the logistics operations and service.
  • You’ll lead your operation to ensure that Nike business volatility is led with precision and in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • You'll educate staff on statistical methods for process and performance assessment and analyze performance data for the purpose of driving key decisions around service, operations and overall logistics. You'll also facilitate and encourage continual improvement processes focused on making the operation more effective, efficient, and flexible.
  • You'll select, empower, develop and evaluate our team, including recruitment and selection, person-to-person developmental, performance reviews, salary administration, professional/managerial training and Human Resource Process implementation of managers.
  • You'll build and maintain interdependent relationships with all functional areas within the facility and engage in cross-functional collaboration with all supply chain functional groups (operations, demand planning, engineering, project management, finance, and our executive team).
  • You’ll focus on creating an environment that values differences and leads with a bias to manage conflicts while driving and leading effective teamwork. 
  • You'll advise business processes to receive, store, process and ship product timely and accurately to customers while optimizing operational results.
  • You'll develop the annual operations budget vital to achieve the targeted sales goals while purposefully pursuing customer service standards. In addition, you'll be accountable for achieving the annual operating budget.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 8 -10 years' experience in Distribution or Ecommerce fulfilment.
  • Demonstrated effective management of an operation comprising both salaried and hourly staff of at least 500; the ability to effectively guide, lead and manage within all areas of the operation and coach staff beyond current potential
  • Multi-level broad range distribution experience, preferably involving receiving, pick and pack and shipping in a fast-paced automated facility.
  • Experience in all facets of inventory and end-to-end supply chain life cycle including value added services. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of supply chain logistics processes including demand planning, distribution requirements planning, inventory management, manufacturing planning, material planning, inventory control, transportation and logistics planning, customer service and warehousing.
  • Thorough understanding of logistics impact on diverse organization departmental goals.
  • Knowledge of current industry standard methodologies in supply chain management to drive process improvement.
  • Proven ability to engage all levels of a large organization to remove waste from operations processes employing Lean/Six Sigma practices.
  • Experience with a contingent workforce.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems including Manhattan WMS, high-speed conveyor systems and other automated equipment.
  • The ability to effectively teach, lead and manage within all areas of the operation and coach staff beyond current potential.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with adversity and rapidly changing operating conditions while still delivering to expectations.
  • 3rd party logistics experience working with or in a partner model to lead the execution of supply chain business needs is valuable.
