At Maersk, we’re building an integrated logistics company that moves the world. Our depots play a critical role in enabling safe, efficient, and high‑quality container operations across the region.
We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who will ensure our assets, facilities, and equipment remain reliable, safe, and fully available for our operations.
This is a key leadership role at our largest site in Costa Rica (Limón), managing high‑value equipment and a distributed technical team across multiple depots.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 4 direct reports: Maintenance Coordinators, Facilities Coordinator and Maintenance Planner.
- Ensure high availability of heavy equipment and critical assets through effective preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance.
- Manage assets of high financial value.
- Oversee all facility maintenance, ensuring infrastructure remains fully operational and compliant.
- Secure and renew mandatory permits (sanitary, environmental, wastewater, fuel, etc.) to ensure legal and safe operation.
- Manage spare parts inventory, balancing availability vs. obsolescence to protect P&L.
- Monitor and manage budget execution, cost control, and maintenance KPIs.
- Conduct frequent field walkthroughs, ensuring safe and correct execution of work across all sites.
- Foster a strong service mindset toward Operations and internal customers.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil), Electromechanics, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience leading maintenance teams (heavy equipment + facilities).
- Proven experience managing assets of high value and technical complexity.
- Solid understanding of maintenance planning, work order control, inventory management, and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership capabilities: coaching, performance management, discipline, structure, and follow‑through.
- Ability to lead teams across multiple sites with autonomy and accountability.
- Clear, assertive communication and a respectful leadership style.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work under operational pressure.
- Intermediate English is desirable (mainly for improvement projects and communication with global teams).
