SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The Area Sales Manager promotes and sell a range of Performance Coatings products to new and existing customers in the assigned area by developing strategic partnerships and strong relationships, liaising with the client market and responding to sales and technical enquiries, implementing Jotun customer management tools, methods and guidelines, in order to achieve the budgeted local market position, sales, gross margin, DSO, and customer satisfactions targets, and to ensure that Jotun is seen as a preferred supplier of high-quality products, solutions and services. Develop a flexible approach to pursue cross-functional customers and projects.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for business development within the segment and geographical area by performing market visits, defining local focus customers and agreeing to specific customer strategies with the line manager, managing key accounts, tracking new projects and influencing the specifications to ensure targeted growth is achieved.
Using Jotun tools, together with the line manager establish and implement a robust framework for prioritizing and developing Key Accounts /Customers with relevant and dynamic metrics and KPIs, establishing and following up on active plans to best serve Jotun’s long-term strategy and profitability.
Build new opportunities analyzing the market, planning visits to potential customers, and providing a swift response on quotations and inquiries in order to secure growth and increase market share.
Gather customer needs, market trends and competition information. Analyze competitive dynamics and market trends, including market size, market share, customer segments, buying factors, competitive position, to make a feasible business strategy and plan to position Jotun as a preferred supplier and secure sustainable and profitable relationships with key customers.
Follow up closely and guide Key Projects, including cross-border projects and cross-functional customers, by ensuring Jotun’s products are used, following up on progress & key decisions, ensuring that stakeholders are informed and engaged, ensuring cost efficiency and monitoring performance and results in order to achieve targeted sales & profitability budgets.
Maintain customer relationship by regular visits, responding to enquiries and providing advice on product selection in order to achieve sales budget.
Follow up and monitor customers on proper pricing and payment to reduce Days of Sales outstanding and to achieve the targeted gross margin.
Co-ordinate with internal departments like: Customer Service, Marketing and Production to ensure high quality of service is provided. Share customer information, leads and opportunities with relevant internal stakeholders to strengthen Jotun’s understanding, innovations, and responses.
Keep up to date with Marine business, the maritime regulatory landscape and the international scenario in order to present relevant proposals focused on the specific needs of customers
