The Area Sales Director, Manufacturing is a senior go-to-market leader responsible for driving sales performance, shaping market strategy, and enabling a high-performing team across the Manufacturing vertical. This role oversees Client Manager (individual contributors) who carry quota, ensuring strong execution, consistent performance, and a unified approach to clients across the region.
The Area Sales Director reports to the VP, Manufacturing & Industrial Sales and leads a team of Client Managers and Senior Client Managers across North America. The role is accountable for annual bookings and growth across multiple priority clients, with dotted-line collaboration across solution towers and industry practices.
As Manufacturing clients accelerate modernization and navigate economic, sustainability, and supply-chain shifts, this leader plays a critical role in guiding NTT DATA’s positioning as a strategic partner—integrating digital, AI, and operational excellence to deliver measurable business outcomes. This includes understanding leveraging digital, data, and emerging AI capabilities—this leader ensures the sales organization is equipped to articulate the value of these solutions while maintaining a strong foundation in traditional Manufacturing transformation.
While direct client engagement occurs selectively, it is typically with executive stakeholders and focused on shaping long-term partnerships, business outcomes, and solution alignment.
Strategic Leadership & Go-To-Market Execution through collaborating with Consulting, Delivery, and Technology Tower leaders to ensure solution alignment, seamless execution, and measurable client impact across the full lifecycle—from pursuit through delivery and renewal.
Partner with Sales Executives and senior leadership to define a Manufacturing-focused sales strategy aligned to global and regional objectives.
Ensure go-to-market plans integrate modern capabilities, including data, cloud, automation, and AI, where relevant to Manufacturing use cases such as quality, throughput, maintenance, and supply chain optimization.
Lead a unified cross-practice, cross-industry sales motion that reduces friction for clients and presents a single, cohesive NTT Data team.
Guide adoption of modern sales tools and insights (including AI-enabled platforms) to improve planning, targeting, and performance.
Champion awareness and understanding of emerging technologies without shifting focus away from core Manufacturing business outcomes.
Sales Management & Performance Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of client managers and senior client managers to achieve consistent quota performance.
Set and manage sales targets, ensuring alignment with key Manufacturing growth priorities.
Monitor sales performance against objectives, using data and insights to make informed decisions.
Own budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and operational governance for the regional sales organization.
Manufacturing Vertical Expertise & Market Alignment
Maintain deep understanding of Manufacturing market drivers including supply-chain resiliency, IT/OT modernization, workforce transformation, sustainability, and digital operations.
Ensure sales teams can position NTT Data capabilities relevant to Manufacturing, including opportunities where AI enhances traditional solutions.
Engage with key Manufacturing executives to shape long-term partnerships that focus on outcomes and operational value.
Partner, OEM, and Ecosystem Collaboration
Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, hyperscalers, and strategic partners that influence Manufacturing sales cycles.
Support early engagement with partners to develop aligned sales plays—including those augmented by modern analytics, automation, or AI insights.
Guide teams on partner-led opportunities, co-selling motions, and registration strategies.
Operational Excellence & Culture Leadership
Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing sales culture grounded in accountability and client-centricity.
Model NTT DATA’s leadership behaviors—acting as a culture carrier who fosters transparency, inclusion, and a growth mindset across the sales organization.
Ensure sales processes, methodologies, and tools are applied consistently while allowing flexibility to adapt to client needs.
Share best practices, enablement materials, and market insights to elevate overall team capability.
Support targeted enablement initiatives, including periodic sessions focused on emerging technologies like AI that complement Manufacturing strategies.

Business Management: Strong target setting, forecasting, and performance governance.
Talent Development: Ability to coach, develop, and enable high-performing sales talent.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Extensive 7-10 years sales leadership experience within a global technology services or consulting organization.
Proven success leading quota-bearing teams with a focus on Manufacturing or Industrial clients.
Experience with digital transformation offerings—cloud, data, automation, and optional AI solutions.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex deals and influence senior client executives.
Experience managing financial performance, account planning, and multi-million-dollar sales portfolios.
Familiarity with partner ecosystems (OEMs, hyperscalers, ISVs).
Travel up to 50% as required.
