Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 yearly salary plus bonus
Job Summary: The Area Catering Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, planning, and promoting catering business for the hotel, maximizing revenue while controlling expenses. This role ensures the successful execution of catering events, from initial negotiation through event completion, and maintains high standards of guest satisfaction and service quality.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Manage all catering operations, including guest service, soliciting new accounts, negotiating contracts, and marketing catering services.
Plan and execute catering events, ensuring client satisfaction and successful event outcomes.
Control catering expenses through effective negotiation and cost control measures.
Accurately forecast catering revenues and assist with budgeting and systems management.
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless event execution and communication.
Evaluate guest needs and industry trends to adjust services and operations for market competitiveness and guest satisfaction.
Monitor client feedback and satisfaction scores, ensuring high standards in service, food quality, and event execution.
Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs before and after events.
Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-2 years of experience in catering sales, hospitality, or a related field.
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and vendors.
Ability to manage multiple events and priorities with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic computer functions; experience with Sales Pro is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to present information effectively in small group settings.
Work Environment:
Primarily indoor office work with moderate noise typical of an office environment.
Frequent interaction with clients, staff, and vendors, both in-person and via phone or email.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules.
