Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will provide timely, professional architectural products, services, and consultations for planning, design, construction, and maintenance, of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other supported commands.
  • You will coordinate the architectural design with the engineering disciplines for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects to ensure overall compatibility and efficiency of the site and building design.
  • You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites, as required, to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and though meeting with the sponsoring and using activities.
  • You will plan and lead project design conferences/work sessions and on-site design charrettes/Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) with stakeholders to determine project requirements and to develop concept designs.
  • You will perform quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by design firms.
  • You will provide post construction award services (PCAS), including review and approval of contractor's submittals for conformance with the requirements of the contract drawings and specifications.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing all aspects of architectural design for a wide variety of installation shore facility types, to include architectural programming, space planning, concept design development, sustainable design, design analyses, compliance with codes and standards, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and other required services; AND as a Design Manager performing technical management and oversight on execution of multidisciplinary design projects Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/architecture-series-0808/ Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
