Your Role in Synergy's Success
The Quality and Food Safety Intern will work in our Quality Lab gaining skills testing incoming raw materials, intermediate products, and finished product samples.
How You Will Contribute
Roles and Responsibilities:
- 25% Laboratory testing, learning the production process and quality testing/support, work with Will B. to learn the lab testing process and support the lab as a QC Tech
- 50% Supplier/Raw Material Document Updates/Maintenance, work with Sarah to update documentation and update Trace Gains
- 25% Production entry-level reviews/inspections (i.e. glass/brittle plastic register check, approved chemical list check, etc.), work with Sarah to complete annual tasks to support/improve SQF compliance
- Participate in Synergy's group intern Project
Requirements:
- Required Skills and Experience:
- Currently seeking BS degree in either Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint efficiently
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing desirable
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Discern sensory differences between tested flavors and flavor chemicals
- A positive attitude, a team player, engaging and able to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively
Starting Salary : $21.00/hr
The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
