Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D0085000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard. This position is located in the Pneudraulic Function of Aerospace Systems.

Major Duties:

  • The position is established to serve as a working leader over three or more technicians on the evening shift. Passes on to workers assigned to the evening shift instructions received from the supervisor. Advises the supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delay, and overall work operations, problems, and individual performance. Works along with the other technicians in setting the pace and performing nonsupervisory work of the Pneudraulic Function: (a) Performs maintenance and operational and functional checks on assigned pneudraulic systems. (b) Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft pneudraulic systems. (c) Performs organizational and field level maintenance to include periodic, phase, time, calendar, unscheduled, and special inspection. (d) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Military Grades: E-6 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: Experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications. Must have experience in the following: Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. Payments: Up to 25% of the annual rate of basic pay as of the beginning of the service period (includes locality pay/special rate supplement) multiplied by number of years (and fractions) covered by the service agreement.
