About the Role

The Academic Governance Assistant will work within the Faculty of Science and Engineering Governance team to support the delivery of critical business and processing of curriculum related functions.

Key Responsibilities 

The Academic Governance Assistant will be guided by the Academic Governance Officer and Governance and Initiatives Manager to complete curriculum-related business and processes for the faculty.

What will you do?

  • Work directly with the Curriculum Management System (CMS) to download reports and extract data to compile documents and data for review and approval by Course Directors and Education committee members.

  • Support to prepare curriculum documents ahead of School and Education Committee meetings

  • Attend Faculty Education Committee meetings to help with the presentation of curriculum related documents, and where appropriate take notes of the meeting

  • Support to answer CMS related curriculum queries as well as cross check proposed curriculum changes.

  • Undertake general administrative duties in line with team workflows and service protocols. 

  • Comply with relevant professional standards and codes of ethics and EEO and WHS regulations.

  • Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

Essential Criteria

  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office suite skills

  • Excellent time management, written communication and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver on competing deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with diverse audiences. 

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). 

  • Available for up to 14-21 hours of work per week.

Desirable  

  • Familiarity with university policies and administrative processes.
