Full job description

At Mt. View Retirement Village – We are seeking a compassionate and creative hands-on Activity Director who is passionate about helping seniors live with purpose, dignity, and happiness. To build meaningful connections, where relationships truly matter.

What You’ll Do

As our Activity Director, you will lead life enrichment programming for residents living in our Independent, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.

This position requires hands-on for various activities and events.

Your duties will include:

  • Designing and leading engaging small and large groups, along with

one-on-one activities.

  • Creating dementia-specific programming for our Memory Care unit to include sensory stimulation, emotional connection, and individualized engagement.
  • Develop a vibrant monthly activity calendar for Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care to include entertainment, games, creativity, educational/learning, physical, mental, and social programming.
  • Coordinating volunteers and entertainers for special events and presentations.
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure programs meet community standards.
  • Communicate with families, residents, and staff members to encourage participation.
  • Inputting events, activities, community news, and changes into the

In-House TV system.

  • Complete daily activity and event flyers.
  • Strong bookkeeping experience (invoices, receipts, and petty cash)
  • Strong social media (Facebook, Next-door etc.)

We’re Looking For

The right person for this position will bring both heart and experience. You must love working with seniors and enjoy making someone’s day better.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior living or long-term care environment.
  • At least 3 years of working with individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairment.
  • A strong understanding of redirection and engagement.
  • Strong organization skills, able to communicate clearly, and lead with compassion.
  • Strong community resources in the health care industry.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, move tables and chairs.
  • Strong supervisor skills. (two activity assistants, two community bus drivers).

You must also have (or be able to obtain)

  • AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive community vehicles.
  • Arizona Memory Care Certification
  • CPR /First Aid
