Boeing Commercial Airplanes, 737 Engineering team is seeking 737 ALIT Senior Engineering Manager (Level L) to join their team in Renton, WA.

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager for the 737 Development Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT) will lead cross-functional engineering and program teams to complete airplane-level certification, eliminate technical risks, and drive performance to schedule targets, to successfully finish the 737-7 and 737-10 development programs, including the transition to production. The senior manager will work closely with the 737 Development Chief Project Engineer (CPE) in execution of their responsibilities.  This role requires a pragmatic, results-oriented leader who can align engineering, test, and program stakeholders to closure while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and Boeing standards.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Lead airplane-level certification activities for the 737-7 and 737-10: drive and execute certification work statement, manage certification evidence across the 737 Development program.

  • Drive closure of critical technical risks and open action items across systems and subsystems; own issue resolution plans, accountable closures, and verification of mitigations.

  • Establish and execute performance metrics and delivery plans that ensure on-time completion of technical milestones, certification gates, and program commitments.

  • Lead integration with the 737 Production team to ensure a successful transition from the development program to sustained production, with particular focus on early 737-7 and 737-10 deliveries and the associated international type validation.

  • Serve as the airplane-level technical lead for final development activities, resolving cross-discipline issues as the program completes certification and full production implementation.

  • Drive aggressive risk reduction: prioritize highest-impact items, allocate cross-functional engineering resources, track progress, and escalate when necessary to remove blockers.

  • Communicate status, residual risks, and recovery plans to program leadership and stakeholders; prepare and present concise, data-driven updates for executive reviews.

  • Mentor and develop team members to operate effectively under high schedule pressure and to adopt reproducible processes for certification and risk closure.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at Renton, WA

This is a full-time position; role may require travel to program sites, test/cert events, regulator meetings, and customer meetings. May include on-call responsibilities to support emergent safety and/or certification activities and time-sensitive regulatory interactions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):             

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 2+ years of management experience managing technical and/or engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in leading multi-functional teams to meet customer expectations on quality and schedule.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience possess effectively communicating and influencing decision-making by internal and external management and senior level representatives.

  • Prior experience as a CPE delegate, ALIT/SC&P participant, or similar program leadership role.

  • Familiarity with BCAB, BPSM, VDR/FCA, COSP, and NNC review processes.

  • Experience approving or managing change in standard flow timelines with regulators.

  • Experience as a senior manager. For the purposes of this requirement, a senior manager is defined as a second-level manager or higher.

$182,000 - $246,000
