Quality Control Technician, Resins

In this role you will perform functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

This role is based in our Redwood City office (moving to Sunnyvale in Q2) and you will be expected to be in-office five days per week.  This role is not eligible for current Visa sponsorship. This role is not eligible for relocation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & perform physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products, including products on stability, according to written methods, material specification, and company policies as identified in standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
  • Perform routine incoming material inspections to determine conformance with products’ specifications.
  • Perform material characterization in support of supplier qualification and scale up validation.
  • Analyze data, generate reports, and support lot release workflow.
  • Maintain calibrations of test equipment.
  • Assist with development of new QC processes and SOP’s and support change control management workflow.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective and preventive action implementations to maintain established quality standards.    
  • Actively participate in any project work as and when assigned. Perform process validation and verification testing on various resin products and raw materials. Assist other technicians, scientists & engineers with analytical, instrument and software related problems as required.

Requirements:

  • An Associate Degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Technology or an appropriate equivalent.
  • Experience with MS office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project) and Adobe products.
  • Previous experience as a Laboratory Test Technician
  • Experience in handling liquid resins and chemicals is preferred
  • Excellent organization skills with an eye for detail, and experience analyzing and presenting data in an organized manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and ability to follow oral, written, email, and text message instructions.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a collaborative setting.
  • Familiarity with Gage R&R studies and SPC control charts. 
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO is preferrable.
  • Highly experienced candidates without a degree may also be considered

In order to maintain equitable internal pay practices, we aim to hire new employees near the midpoint of $36.06 per hour taking into account your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role.
