We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented YouTube Intern (40 hrs/week) to join our Video team this Summer. In this role, you’ll work closely with our video teams to help manage and grow our YouTube presence. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes news—especially hard news and entertainment with a solid understanding of what performs well on digital platforms. You’ll contribute to the ideation, scheduling, and optimization of video content while helping shape the channel’s editorial voice.
Note: This internship is scheduled to run from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Participants are expected to work full time hours and adhere to our on-site work schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by March 15th.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in the publishing and optimization of video content on YouTube
Monitor news and entertainment trends to help pitch and identify timely content opportunities
Ensure videos are properly tagged, titled, and categorized
Support the team in meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment
What We’re Looking For:
Strong interest in news, ideally hard news and entertainment
Previous experience using YouTube as a content management platform (personal or professional)
Excellent news judgment and understanding of what makes a story engaging on digital platforms
Strong writing and communication skills
Highly organized and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Familiarity with YouTube Studio, metadata best practices, and video analytics is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in journalism, communications, media, or a related field
Experience with video editing or thumbnail creation tools
Knowledge of copyright, fair use
