As a PALs Peer Leader, you will be responsible for facilitating a weekly peer-assisted learning session that gives participants an opportunity to review learned material, ask questions, engage in group activities and review difficult concepts. Under the supervision of the Learner Support Specialist, you will teach study skills and strategies tailored to the course needs. You will get the opportunity to engage participants in self-reflective learning and academic-centered habits of mind that will encourage students to become more independent and confident in their academic abilities, all while applying evidence-based practices to facilitate and support student learning. You will be responsible for preparing small-group activities, facilitating a group of up to 15 students, reporting on sessions and attending 4 training sessions/meetings with your supervisor throughout the term to discuss next steps and support material for the program.
