You will be focus on Workload Automation for 24 x 7 batch job processing. You will collaborate with others in the division to provide and maintain applications that meet our needs. Responsible for software development for moderate to complex business solutions, providing technical guidance for specific applications.
You will report to the Technology Services Senior Manager.
You will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110.

Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Scheduling: Oversee 24x7 batch job processing, develop schedules, manage job dependencies, and update scheduling calendars.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve job failures (abends), conduct root cause analysis, and address scheduling conflicts.
- System Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade scheduling tools (such as AutoSys/ CA7/ Stonebranch), manage scheduling agents, and perform routine database maintenance. Unitech and SAR
- Collaboration & Support: Partner with application teams to design and improve workflows, assist with production migrations, and provide on-call support.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive job documentation, follow security protocols, and support internal and external audit processes.
- Analyze high-level system specifications, system requirements and use cases.
- Understand and identify system dependencies.
- Collaborate with others regarding effectiveness of systems flow, data usage and manual or automated processes to verify requirements.
- Ensure software development meets standards for programming, design, performance, quality, and security. Identify and recommend areas for improvement in planning, design, and testing.
Requirements:
- Tool Proficiency: Extensive experience with CA7 (mainframe) or AutoSys/ Stonebranch (distributed systems) scheduling tools.
- Technical Skills: Strong command of JCL, TSO/ISPF, JES2/JES3, and SDSF for CA7, or Unix/Linux/Windows shell scripting for AutoSys.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex job dependencies and failures.
- Communication: Effective collaborator with the ability to work with multiple teams and disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience developing complex systems using one or more programming language.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, using and supporting integration and communications technologies between applications, databases and technology platforms.
- Solid knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with integration and migration strategies and technologies.
