AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Workforce Development
- Provide coordination and operational support for workforce development programs and initiatives led by the Workforce Development Manager.
- Assist with the planning, implementation, tracking, and execution of skilled trades workforce development strategies and programs.
- Support engagement with outside agencies, educational institutions, and service providers (public and private) to help develop and administer training and educational programs aligned with hiring needs.
- Assist in collecting, maintaining, and reporting workforce development data by supporting the development and upkeep of tracking tools, dashboards, and reports related to workforce initiatives, participation metrics, and program outcomes.
- Provide ongoing administrative and logistical support to workforce development programs, including coordinating schedules, preparing materials, and supporting day-to-day program execution and documentation.
- Support workforce forecasting and planning efforts by compiling data related to workforce trends, staffing needs, and workforce gaps.
- Support Talent Acquisition and Technical Training by tracking program participation, recruitment pipelines, and training alignment.
- Assist with deployment of workforce development activities related to leadership development, employee growth, and talent pipeline initiatives as directed by the Workforce Development Manager.
- Attend meetings with external partners and agencies as needed to support workforce initiatives and partnerships.
- Pre-qualify external, and possibly internal applicants based on job description requirements for the applied position and make recommendations to hiring managers.
Austal USA Ambassador / Compliance Support
- Support the development, coordination, and execution of campus tours and partner engagement activities.
- Assist with scheduling, preparing materials for, and supporting partner and facility tours on campus.
- Represent Austal USA professionally when engaging with workforce partners, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Support compliance-related activities associated with workforce development programs.
- Assist with monitoring workforce development initiatives for alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Support documentation, tracking, and recordkeeping related to compliance requirements for workforce programs, grants, or partnerships.
- Assist with preparation of compliance-related training materials and documentation.
- Support compliance monitoring, audits, and reporting as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource or related field preferred
- 0 – 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, Workforce Development, Training Coordination, or Talent Pipelines.
- Experience supporting workforce development or training initiatives preferred.
- Experience working with educational institutions, workforce agencies, or community partners preferred.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to support reporting and program tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project suite of reporting and analytic tools.
