THE JOB:

As a Workers Compensation Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring a smooth and seamless transition of employees back to the workplace following a work-related incident. In this role, you’ll maintain strong communication with corporate partners, support impacted employees throughout the process, and collaborate with department leaders. You’ll also analyze injury data and hazardous trends contributing to workplace incidents, helping develop proactive strategies to reduce risk while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Provide ongoing support to employees throughout the return-to-work process by advocating for reasonable accommodations, collaborating with Company Return-to-Work Specialists to identify modified duty opportunities, and developing light-duty placements through review of medical restrictions

  • Maintain regular communication with injured employees to ensure understanding of the workers’ compensation process

  • Maintaining accurate records of return-to-work communications, return-to-work results and deviations from established processes and procedures

  • Responsible for collaborating with Company Return to Work Specialist and ADA Department to follow corporate guidelines regarding permanent restrictions processes

  • Encouragement of use of Third-Party Administrators self-service tools to promote understanding and better connectivity with claims professionals

  • Review and evaluation of return-to-work data and results, providing feedback to operators on the outcomes, trends and recommendations for improvement

  • Conduct regular training and education sessions with all associated departments to ensure understanding of the Workers Compensation process, company policies and procedures as well as expectations of the company’s Third-Party Administrator

  • Ensuring lost time for OSHA reporting is accurately documented, working with the return-to-work team at Corporate

  • Participate in or lead projects and initiatives directed by Risk Management leadership to support continuous improvement of the Risk Management program


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

  • 3+ years of prior relevant experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
