Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Workday HCM, the Workday HR Specialist is responsible for enabling the development, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of Workday business solutions with a focus but not limited to supporting Learning, Talent, and Recruitment. The Specialist analyzes business needs and works in close partnership with HR stakeholders, internal business units, and Technology teams to translate requirements into effective, sustainable system solutions aligned with organizational strategy and business priorities.

The Specialist participates in both strategic and operational discussions, providing recommendations related to systems, processes, priorities, and performance indicators. Working collaboratively across teams, the role supports business transformation by guiding the configuration, implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of Workday technologies and related tools within these domains.

This role plays a key part in ensuring Workday solutions are well governed, scalable, and responsive to evolving business needs, with a strong focus on enabling effective talent development, workforce planning, learning delivery, and recruitment outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Performs gap and impact analysis and Identifies opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies enables the organization in identifying Talent & Learning data / system requirements, planning for enhancements and developing implementation strategies within corporately accepted platforms and environments. 
  • Remains current on technology trends and partners with Technology to contribute to solution roadmaps and provide a prioritized set of requirements for each solution.
  • Support and execute testing activities for multiple pipeline releases as well as bi-annual Workday releases.
  • Partners with the business to enable the implementation technology solutions that will deliver improvements to organizational, operational and people strategies 
  • Establishes and prioritizes the pipeline of technology requests and establishes delivery cadence with internal Business Process Owners and Technology. 
  • Monitors data integrity and accuracy and coordinates with the Learning group for the necessary corrective actions. 
  • Ensures application support tools and other system support procedures are maintained. 
  • Documents and communicates changes to users Development of standard and ad hoc reports which will transform Talent & Learning data into information which management can use to make strategic decisions and improve corporate efficiencies. 
  • Develop and deliver new training packages with respect to system upgrades and new software releases. 
  • Communicates with Project Managers on a frequent basis; identifies tasks and issues that may have an impact on service levels or schedules. 
  • Communicates with leads, Technology groups, and clients so they understand the project's implications, dependencies, and potential conflicts from both a business and technical perspective. 
  • Evaluates the impacts of change requests on own/shared technologies and effectively persuades and influences others on ideas.

What you bring:

  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience with an ERP preferably Workday.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience supporting Workday or equivalent ERP, with a strong focus on Learning, Talent, and/or Recruitment business processes and system functionality.
  • Experience supporting adoption of technology solutions across HR stakeholders, with an appreciation for change management and user experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
