Job Description
The Wireless Software/Firmware Engineer is a self‑driven senior engineer responsible for designing, developing, and verifying embedded wireless software solutions. The role involves implementing software design principles, writing high‑quality code, and understanding firmware behavior on 8‑, 16‑, and 32‑bit microprocessors and microcontrollers.
The engineer is expected to deliver innovative, robust wireless solutions and contribute to requirements, architecture, detailed design, unit and integration testing. Work may be performed independently or within a cross‑functional team while following established software development processes.
Technical Requirements (Mandatory)
Strong proficiency in C and C++
Deep experience with Bluetooth and/or Zigbee protocol stacks
Hands‑on experience with Nordic Semiconductor platforms and Zephyr OS
Proficiency in white‑box testing and requirement‑based software validation
Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills
Solid understanding of software design principles and design verification
Nice to Have:
Experience with Bluetooth® Mesh or Zigbee Mesh networking
Gateway design or connectivity architecture experience
Understanding of database concepts
Experience across full SDLC: Planning, Requirements, Architecture, Design, Implementation, Integration
Experience with Medical Device development, including FDA and IEC 62304 processes
Test automation scripting in Python
Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or JIRA
Familiarity with Agile methodology
Responsibilities
Medical Device Design processes
Work with the manager and/or PM to provide information that will aid in the initial estimation process (RFI/RFQ)
Write clear and concise documentation related to the work performed.
Develop and run effective software verification tests to ensure product stability and performance.
Identify, document, prioritize, and resolve software issues on a software unit level.
Provide input to identify and mitigate technical project risks.
Perform tasks and work items at a sub-project level with limited support from the team lead or PM.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Follow department processes and procedures.
Comply with company security and safety policies.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
