Are you a seasoned engineer with a passion for delivering impactful water or wastewater solutions? We’re looking for an Associate Water or Wastewater Engineer to join our team – someone who brings a strong mix of process or mechanical engineering expertise, coupled with a proven ability to work directly with clients in New Zealand.
In this role, you’ll take the lead in designing and delivering complex water or wastewater projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes for our clients. You’ll be a key part of our multidisciplinary team, helping to shape solutions that are innovative, sustainable, and future-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
•Leverage your existing client base and network to identify new business opportunities and foster business development within the water or wastewater sector.
•Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and new technologies, applying your knowledge to continually improve service offerings.
•Lead and manage wastewater projects from inception through to completion, including feasibility studies, design, implementation, and commissioning.
•Provide both engineering solutions tailored to client needs.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, long-term relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all project aspects are aligned with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
•Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
•Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
•12-15 years’ of experience.
•Highly skilled in water process design, or wastewater process modelling using Biowin and/or SUMO
•Professional accreditation is preferrable.
•Demonstrated ability to win and deliver work
•Proven track record of managing all process components of water or wastewater treatment from start to finish.
•Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
•A self-driven, charismatic, and personable individual who thrives in a client-focused environment.
•Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
•Established client base and network within the water or wastewater industry.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Chemical and Process Engineering, Wastewater Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
•Experience in business development and expanding client portfolios.
•Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
•Project management certification highly desirable
