Position Overview

Are you ready to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? At Kimball Electronics, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our Indianapolis team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our warehouse, supporting our manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a dedicated warehouse team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Provide direction based on high-level management decisions and ensure the team is well-trained and motivated.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory accuracy through meticulous cycle counts and inventory control. Utilize your expertise in ERP and WMS systems to manage inventory transactions, including receiving, transfers, shipping, and handling non-conforming materials.

  • Operational Excellence: Lead safe and efficient material handling operations. Ensure compliance with GMP standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Order Fulfillment: Assist the team with pulling orders, shipping, and receiving activities, ensuring adherence to tight deadlines and high standards of accuracy.

  • Problem Solving: Tackle inventory discrepancies with a keen investigative approach. Develop and optimize processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Technology Savvy: Leverage advanced technology and systems to streamline warehouse operations. Train team members on the effective use of these tools to maximize productivity.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to coordinate activities and meet both internal and external needs. Support new product introduction processes and prioritize continuous improvement efforts.

Basic Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years’ experience in actively leading a manufacturing warehouse team.

  • Inventory/warehouse management expertise.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook). Additionally, experience or knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Warehouse Management systems is a must have

  • Knowledge of quality assurance standards relating to medical devices, FDA experience would be helpful.

  • Work with metrics as a result of our high speed production demands and planning.

  • Communicate with all levels of management, operations, and customers.

  • Possess an innate ability to drive transformative digital change

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term: (0 to 3 months)

  • Learn about Kimball Vision and Guiding Principles.

  • Learn the Quality Management System & Inventory management processes.

  • Develop solid relationships with team members & provide daily direction.

  • Understand procedures, training and conduct production reporting processes. 

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)

  • Lead daily stand-up meeting with team and cross-functional team members

  • Strategizing ways to operate multiple lines across multiple shifts to meet production requirements

  • Align area metrics with overall department goals and streamline resources to deliver on these metrics.

  • Weekly assembly production planning for all shifts

  • Manage daily production activities as it relates to assembly, this includes overseeing the production schedule, team assignments, communication to 2nd & 3rd shift supervisors, daily production reporting using the ERP system.

Long Term: 6-12 months +

  • Implementation of production efficiency improvements

  • Train staff on the utilization of ERP production reporting and inventory management within work centers

  • Implement visual & Digital production environment
