This role is in support of Cencora’s third-party logistics service in the UK through our Alloga business.

Role Overview

Alloga UK is seeking a dedicated and proactive Warehouse Section Leader to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will assist in managing all aspects of warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and people management are maximised. You will also deputise for the Operations Supervisor during times of absence, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to company, client, and governing body standards.

  • Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, weekly rotating shifts - 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00

  • Salary: £29,280.84

  • Location: Derby

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Despatch Operatives, ensuring they use only equipment they are trained to operate.

  • Report damage or defects of on-site equipment or property to the appropriate person.

  • Enforce site security by ensuring doors are secured and challenging unauthorised personnel.

  • Monitor staff appearance to ensure company uniform and identity passes are worn correctly.

  • Maintain operations in line with MHRA and GDP standards, including exceptional housekeeping and cold-chain compliance.

  • Train and support staff to maximise efficiency, ensuring training is recorded and SOPs are completed.

  • Encourage continuous improvement across operations and address errors with corrective actions.

  • Communicate effectively with the operations team and other departments.

  • Lead and motivate team members to perform at their best, delivering regular briefings and KPIs.

  • Conduct random process audits and manage consignment concerns.

  • Ensure adherence to 5S procedures and company Health & Safety policies.

  • Report all accidents and near misses to the HS&E Manager promptly.

  • Perform all activities in compliance with company SOPs, client instructions, and relevant certifications (GDP, GMP, ISO).

Skills and Requirements

Competencies:

  • Previous warehouse experience.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and challenge poor performance.

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and sound understanding of GDP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products.

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in decision-making.

Personal Attributes:

  • Effective planning and prioritisation skills.

  • Ability to delegate tasks appropriately.

  • Flexible approach to work, including shift availability.

  • Honest, enthusiastic, and confident with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Initiative-driven and capable of making sound judgements.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Previous warehouse experience and familiarity with company policies and procedures.

  • Experience operating an RDT.

  • Preferred NVQ Level or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of GDP, Warehouse Management Systems, and Microsoft products.
