About the role 

The role of the Warehouse Operator Level 1 is to carry out the full range of warehousing and operations tasks necessary to enable new spirit to be processed into mature blended spirit within the warehousing and operations areas to meet business goals and customer requirements

What you will do 

  • Cask Management - to remove and receipt casks from warehousing to meet customer demands and control empty casks to meet inventory requirements on filling, dumping and storage.  You will consolidate part filled tiers to maximise warehouse utilisation and carry out regauging to update cask content information.
  • Operations – to operate machinery, vehicles and equipment appropriate to skill level and training.
  • Collaboration – to participate towards a positive safety culture and contribute to the Continuous Improvement Process.  You will also support training of colleagues.
  • Compliance – to record and retrieve data when required, recording activities on paperwork and computer.  You will also maintain spirit integrity through checking identity of casks received or filled and checking casks are fit for fill and do not leak when filled, reporting any anomalies promptly and will carry out stock checking and leak hunting to meet company legislative requirements.

Your skills and background  

  • Have experience in a similar role with experience operating within Health & Safety, Environmental, Revenue and Customs and other statutory requirements and with regard to Bond Security.
  • Can perform tasks within a given time constraints and according to the operational plan.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to develop new skills and train others.
  • Are able to understand and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Competent in use of computerised software and systems.
