About the Role & Program: Corporate social responsibility and community engagement meet local television news in this unique opportunity to work with the #1 station in the country. Under the direction of the Vice President of Community Engagement and Development, you would assist in the creation and management of campaigns supporting the station’s tentpole events and community partners. With your passion for helping people, love of cultural celebrations, and amazing organizational skills, you would be part of a winning team with an opportunity to learn from the best storytellers in the business. The internship runs from January through June.
What You Will Do:
Work in partnership with the news department to ensure coverage of community events
Assist in the distribution of information pertaining to grant dispersal to community partners
Provide administrative support, managing calendars and internal communications
Support talent preparations for external events, i.e.; gathering info on talent’s behalf and solidifying transportation, scripting, etc...
Participate in site visits to nonprofits
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Extremely organized and capable of handling multiple tasks at once
Strong writing skills
Experience using social media platforms to engage with an audience
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast); television news and news media production; and/or television news script writing
Familiarity with software like: Airtable
Education:
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Communications, Journalism or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants:
You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available from January 2026 through June 2026
All candidates must be willing to work 24 hours/week during a Monday through Sunday schedule (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor, and could include nights, weekends, and holidays)
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, New York area
