The VTC Management China role is a strategic and technical liaison position. The jobholder is responsible for supporting the Airbus Office of Airworthiness for all CAAC VTC projects in China. He/she will bridge the gap between the Airbus Airworthiness & Certification and the CAAC to ensure timely certification milestones are met.
Represent the Airbus Office of Airworthiness in China with the aim to support the CAAC VTC manager and CAE (Chief Airworthiness Engineer) teams locally, and facilitate Airbus working relationships with the CAAC for all certification projects.
Maintain a direct link between the Office of Airworthiness (all programs and operational certification) and the CAAC as the technical focal point in China.
Provide overall airworthiness and certification expertise locally and resolve technical issues autonomously, under the leadership of the Chief Airworthiness Engineers.
Coordinates and collaborates with all internal (Commercial, Product Support...) and external (EASA, engine supplier local representatives...) stakeholders to support and maintain effective communication and network, ensuring that Airbus Office of Airworthiness timely addresses and resolves any VTC activities with the CAAC and ACCs.
With the support of CAAC VTC Manager in 1IA department, establish and maintain up-to-date an overall plan covering validation with the CAAC of EASA Type Certificates of Airbus products and changes to the type design and any other CAAC related VTC activities.
Liaise directly with the Chief Airworthiness Engineers teams (all programs) to follow up these validations, with the objective of maintaining an effective, open, direct and regular contact and two-way project coordination with the CAAC.
Liaise directly with and support the Operational Certification team with the CAAC Aircraft Evaluation Group for the issuance of the operational evaluation required for the entry into service of Airbus aircraft operated in China.
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree or above in Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering is preferable.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced aeronautical engineer (5 to 10 years’ experience).
CERTIFICATION:
LANGUAGE: fluent English both in written and oral speaking
KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL SKILLS: Good knowledge in all aspects of aviation engineering and operational environment
ABILITIES:
Good communication skills both oral and written, including ability to synthesize.
Ability to establish relationships and to build credibility amongst stakeholders
Good project management skills.
Understanding of business & political environment, ability to interact with senior management.
