We are seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure and Operations Engineering Fellow, VP/SMD, who will serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for shaping the future of the OneMain’s infrastructure and operational capabilities. This role exists to ensure OneMain’s technology backbone is secure, resilient, scalable, and compliant, enabling the delivery of reliable financial services to OneMain’s customers, partners, and regulators.
Responsibilities:
Evolve secure, compliant enterprise-wide infrastructure architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments
Lead modernization efforts including cloud migration, infrastructure-as-code, and platform engineering
Develop long-term strategies for infrastructure modernization, automation, and resilience
Lead Infrastructure capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives
Oversee operational excellence across OneMain’s Branch and Campus systems, networks, and platforms
Drive operational maturity through automation, observability, and incident management frameworks
Define and implement site Reliability/DevOps best practices, including observability, incident response, and Continuous Improvement opportunities
Champion performance tuning, cost optimization, and service/site reliability
Serve as a technical thought leader and mentor to engineering teams
Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption aligned with business goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive infrastructure and platform engineering initiatives
Ensure infrastructure meets security, compliance, and regulatory standards
Partner with InfoSec and Risk teams to implement robust controls and monitoring
Key Skills:
Cloud Infrastructure Mastery | Deep experience with AWS and Azure, including secure architecture design, cost optimization, and multi-region deployments
Enterprise Networking & Security | Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, DNS, and zero-trust network architectures
CI/CD & DevOps Practices | Ability to build and maintain secure, scalable pipelines
Compliance and Regulatory Alignment | Familiarity with financial regulations such as FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, and PCI-DSS, and how they impact infrastructure design
Identity & Access Management (IAM) | Ability to design secure IAM policies, role-based access controls, and federated identity solutions
Audit & Risk Management | Experience preparing for internal/external audits, implementing logging and traceability, and managing infrastructure risk
Incident Management Practices | Rich experience in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem processes with a focus on reliability and uptime
Capacity Planning & Performance Tuning | Proven experience with forecasting infrastructure needs and optimizing systems for latency, throughput, and cost
Architecture Visioning | Ability to define and communicate long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration | Skilled in working with Information Security, Risk, AppDev, Business Continuity, and other Technology and Corporate functions
Mentorship & Technical Leadership | Ability to guide junior engineers, set engineering standards, and foster a culture of operational excellence
