VP, Sourcing - Technology

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP Sourcing, IT will develop the sourcing strategy, execute the sourcing process, ensure supplier compliance during the onboarding and engagement renewal time periods and negotiate the contractual agreements of assigned suppliers. In this role, you will deliver bottom line savings to the business, manage and mitigate supplier risk as well as business risks and work closely with the IT functional leaders and their teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead category sourcing (Hardware, Telecom, Network, Cloud) with high autonomy and accountability over buy and cost reduction targets.

  • Develop, implement, and lead overall supplier strategy for assigned suppliers ensuring sourcing process integrity, business protections, optimizing productivity, and supplier performance.

  • Provide leadership to IT functional teams with strong process responsibility to develop comprehensive supplier / buyer contractual relationships to meet the business needs.

  • Leverage professional expertise with Legal and business owners to negotiate and draft comprehensive commercial agreements.

  • Oversight of supplier compliance with regulatory and reputational requirements throughout all stages of the sourcing process.

  • Conduct RFPs, vendor research and identification, qualification and competitive analysis of required products and services.

  • Utilize e-Auction tools where appropriate to leverage competition and drive cost reductions

  • Develop and implement sourcing operating plan and growth playbook information for assigned categories and suppliers working closely with IT functional teams to ensure alignment with business strategies, goals, and objectives.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ of progressive leadership experience within IT Sourcing/Supply Chain or related function with ability to demonstrate strong leadership, execution, and significant business and bottom-line contributions.

  • Able to travel up to 25%

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience working in the Financial Services Industry.

  • 4+ years experience managing IT processes/projects.

  • Proven strong facilitation skills and experience delivering presentations.

  • Experience providing outstanding oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.

  • High enthusiasm and desire to work in fast paced, ever changing environment.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities with little supervision.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must have demonstrated project management skills.

  • Proven quantitative and analytical skill set.

Grade/Level: 12

                                                            

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
