An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President Solutions - SAP Solution Architect to join the Team in Derby or London.  This is a Senior Leadership and Delivery Role reporting to the SVP Enterprise Solutions.

This is a technical role where you will be working across multiple projects within the SAP domain alongside the SME’s and your peers of VP Finance & Procurement and the VP SAP Transformation Delivery. In addition, you will be a key member of the design and deployment team who will be driving Rolls Royce’s transformation journey on to S/4 HANA.

You will be interfacing to and influencing business stakeholders in product and solution choices based on the Technical Deployment of the solution and it’s fit with the D&IT Architectural Roadmap.

What you will be doing:

As Vice President Solutions - SAP Solution Architect, you will be accountable for creating, maintaining and executing the SAP Solution Architecture and Design within the Enterprise Systems Strategy; working very closely, hand in glove with Senior Business Stakeholders to advise, guide and inform the appropriate technology solutions to support the business goals:

  • Ensuring that technical design decisions are in keeping with the stated D&IT guidelines for data security, cyber safety, architectural compliance, integration parameters and product recommendations.
  • The provision of technical expertise and input during the development, scoping, planning and delivery of project / programs.
  • Ensuring that the SAP domain team has full access to Enterprise Systems technical guidelines etc. The direction of travel and impact that has on the estate.
  • Ensuring solutions are designed and built with compliance, controls and security front and centre.
  • You will work with and alongside the Enterprise Architecture team where you will ensure compliance with broader group policy and secure wider support when necessary.

Preferred requirements:

  • You will be an experienced Technical Architect with specific domain and application capability.
  • Extensive experience in participating in SAP programmes and experience of participating in multiple full project/programme lifecycles.
  • Understand technical priorities, the tools available to you in your role and how you will influence your stakeholder community.
  • Pragmatic confident and credible when speaking to or delivering in your domain. You will be able to provide evidence of past successes and share learnings, drawing on experience and challenges of the past.
  • Ability to translate non-technical statements of requirement into the appropriate technical framework required to deliver projects and programs.
  • A technical background in SAP and deep SAP configuration experience.
  • Experience of implementations of SAP, use of the modern SAP S/4 HANA capabilities, e.g. Central Finance, new GL, EWM etc.
  • Understand how the elements of SAP fit together and support the business process flows, along with the new capabilities that are available in the S/4 HANA landscape.
  • You will be an accomplished leader with a track record of complex solution delivery in a fluid, dynamic environment.
  • You will be aware of the available solutions and able to think widely rather than in narrow channels.
  • Skilled in, with a deep knowledge of how to design and implement solutions for delivery in a project / program.
  • You will be a problem solver, independent, self-reliant and capable of making decisions.
  • You will be a team player and recognise the power of collaboration and will be good at forging relationships with your peer group, key stakeholders and the 3rd party eco-system you will create.
  • You will be a good communicator and be able to simplify complex technical content to an appropriate level for non-technical people.
  • You will be outcome focussed and pragmatic.
  • You will be a team player and recognise the importance of collaboration to achieve results.
