Role Summary/Purpose

The VP, Health & Wellness – Dental Growth Analytics role is a hands on leader who will provide strategic insights and a decision management framework to drive profitable growth and is responsible for analytical support for the Dental market’s initiatives through leading business KPI design and measurement, providing insights and recommendations. The VP, Health and Wellness – Dental Growth Analytics will partner closely with General Managers & their leadership teams, developing strong analytic solutions for Health & Wellness platform Dental providers & large clients and creating & maintaining advanced analytical tools to measure investment returns. This role is an individual contributor responsible for project management and internal/external client stakeholder management. By partnering with Analytics and other cross-functional stakeholders, this role will support ideation, design, launch, upgrade and on-going maintenance of analytic solutions to optimize investment and drive growth.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide actionable insights into effectiveness & impact of Health & Wellness Dental initiatives

  • Be an SME and business consultant by understanding business needs and performance trends; share analytical thinking with solutions that translate those needs into insights and recommendations

  • Support large client growth and software technology partners through building comprehensive customized client reporting and analytic solutions both for internal customers & external clients

  • Drive open-ended analyses to help optimize provider & client behavior

  • Through effective storytelling, present complex analytical information to sales leadership in a clear and concise manner

  • Lead and drive business KPI design and measurements, improve accuracy and recommend investment optimization opportunities

  • Partner cross-functionally with various stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization, working closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, IT, Credit, Finance, and others

  • Supervise team members, drive efficiency, and optimize standard processes

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of analytics experience; OR in lieu of degree a high school diploma and 9+ years of analytics experience in marketing, customer acquisition, or loyalty programs in credit card and/or financial service areas.

  • A minimum of 7+ years of analytics experience and include:

    • 5 years of analytics experience establishing and managing sales and/or marketing analytics in the healthcare, financial services, credit card and/or payments industry

    • 5 years leading large-scale analytics projects

    • 5 years of experience utilizing database/analytics tools (SQL, SAS, Python), digital analytics tool tool such as Tableau

    • Strong Excel experience

    • 3+ years of Client facing experience, including influencing business decisions with senior level leaders (internal and client)

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, finance, business, or other quantitative fields

  • Health and wellness analytics experience is desired; health/dental provider experience is also preferred.

  • Credit Card industry experience is preferred.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred in statistics, decision science or predictive analytics

  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to be a trusted business partner

  • Ability to influence business partners and senior management through the building and delivering of insights and compelling recommendations

  • Ability to synthesize/analyze diverse information, develop and recommend strategies, and articulate clearly to business partners and senior leadership teams

  • Strong knowledge of and high proficiency in analytics tools like SAS, R, Python, & Tableau

  • Strong skills in project management, communications, multi-tasking, with ability to work independently under tight timelines

  • Wide-ranging understanding of financial service industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities, with business performance reporting experience.

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 135,000.00 - 230,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
