We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join our team as the Employee Communication and Engagement VP. 


WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Employee Communication and Engagement VP leads a team of internal communication consultants and delivery professionals, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of all communication engagements with bswift clients. This executive is responsible for growing the communication practice by ensuring client satisfaction and success, and expanding communication work opportunities within the client book. The VP is client-facing and will serve as executive sponsor or lead consultant on important engagements for the agency. The ideal candidate has a background in communications consulting—specifically internal corporate, total rewards, benefits communications, and marketing—and significant experience developing and delivering strategies that achieve measurable results for clients, including research, measurement, change management, internal communication, benefits, and Annual Enrollment communication plans.


WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR (Essential Functions):

  • Lead and manage a consulting and delivery communications team accountable for book of business satisfaction, revenue, and performance.
  • Define clear roles and accountabilities for team members.
  • Develop career pathing and professional development tracks.
  • Serve as communications and strategy coach to the team.
  • Drive quality delivery and consistency throughout the team.
  • Ensure adherence to process and tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and report on client health.
  • Manage client relationships and projects, including budget, scope, and billing.
  • Foster team engagement, enthusiasm, and a culture of trust.
  • Act as senior strategic communications consultant to targeted clients, providing recommendations that drive additional communications revenue.
  • Participate in cross-functional leadership teams, partnering closely with other function leaders to achieve mutual success and represent the interests of the Agency and Clients.
  • Participate in industry speaking and marketing events to promote the Agency and provide thought leadership.
  • Support new business sales and client retention efforts to represent the Agency.
  • Represent client growth in the overall revenue pipeline for the Agency.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Required Education and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Advertising, or Journalism. Master’s degree in business or MBA a plus.
  • 15 years’ experience in a formal communications role, preferably in employee communications. Prior consulting experience required.
  • 5 years in a leadership role, leading large integrated teams responsible for a large book of business.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, and daily client-facing communications.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to write for various outlets (internal, external, web, emails, newsletters, letters, social, etc.).
  • Exceptional planning, project management, and coordination skills.
  • Deep experience in successfully leading large teams and developing a culture of trust, enthusiasm, and engagement.
  • Strong issue resolution and team member engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with inter-department peers to influence processes and business decisions affecting client delivery.

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Education and Experience):

  • Master’s degree in business or MBA.
  • Experience in benefits administration or related fields.
  • Experience participating in industry events and thought leadership activities.

Specific benefit offerings vary by position and may be subject to change.

 

Standard working hours are 8am-5pm Central Time, unless otherwise stated in the Job Description. 

 

 

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $170,000-$200,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.  If you are hired at bswift, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package!
