Job Description:

The Vice President of Commercial Partnerships is a critical leadership role within the North American trading organization, responsible for shaping the strategic direction of commercial partnerships and driving the execution of initiatives that deliver value for clients and partners alike. This position serves as a bridge between the tactical execution performed at the Director level and the overarching strategic vision set by the EVP. The VP will leverage extensive industry knowledge in video, digital, outdoor, audio, and local media to identify and secure valuable partnerships, enhance revenue generation, and contribute to the broader organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Execution:

  • Collaborate with the SVP & EVP to define and implement the annual commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the overall trading vision.

  • Drive the identification, negotiation, and activation of high-impact commercial partnerships, working closely with media owners and industry stakeholders.

  • Develop a robust pipeline of commercial opportunities, supporting the region’s ambitious growth targets and financial performance.

  • Collaborate with partners & internal parties to maintain track and forecast partnership utilization properly and consistently.

Commercial Excellence:

  • Monitor and analyze market trends and patterns to uncover strategic revenue opportunities that align with client needs and organizational capabilities.

  • Ensure effective execution of the commercial strategy by providing direction and support to the trading and solutions teams.

  • Foster a culture of innovation by identifying and developing new proprietary products and solutions that meet market demands.

Team Development and Leadership:

  • Mentor and guide Directors and team members, promoting professional growth and development while ensuring high performance.

  • Oversee performance management processes for the commercial partnerships team, providing constructive feedback and support for career advancement.

  • Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, creativity, and accountability.

Partner & Internal Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key agency personnel and partners, serving as a trusted advisor in negotiations and partnership discussions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align commercial efforts with client objectives, ensuring seamless delivery of services and solutions.

  • Participate actively in new business initiatives, contributing strategic insights and leading presentations as needed.

Communication Skills:

  • Articulate the commercial strategy clearly to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding at all levels.

  • Develop compelling presentation materials that effectively convey insights, recommendations, and value propositions to clients and leadership.

Experience/Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in the media industry (sales or agency), with a proven track record in partnership development and revenue generation.

  • Strong negotiation skills with experience managing multi-million-dollar deals and complex partnerships.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring client-centric outcomes.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial management, leveraging insights to drive decision-making and strategy.

The annual base salary range for this position is $136,850-$182,562. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.  Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
