This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly.
The Sr. Associate II, Surgical Field Sales (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for achieving sales targets by selling surgical ophthalmic products in the assigned territory. You will build strong professional relationships with customers, address their needs promptly, and ensure high customer satisfaction through product demonstrations and support. Specifics include:
• Achieve sales targets for specific accounts or territories by promoting and selling Alcon products through various sales activities
• Develop relationships with key opinion leaders and high-volume users while discovering and developing new business opportunities
• Implement a sales plan and strategy, visiting customers frequently to provide necessary support
• Conduct events and meetings to update customers on products, services, and prices, and create and maintain a customer database
• Conduct competitive market analysis to maintain Alcon's product market share and react to competition by assessing the market
• Provide timely reports and ensure accurate and timely documentation of sales activities and customer interactions according to company needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Selling and achieving quota on full product mix of posterior and combined (CAT/VIT) procedural products to include: Capital Equipment (CONSTELATION VISION SYSTEM, PUREPOINT LASER, and NGENUITY), Consumable Procedural Paks including Custom/Pit Paks, Grieshaber Disposables, Laser Probes, Tamponades and Misc. Stand Alone Products
- Act as the single point of accountability for accounts’ vitreoretinal needs while collaborating with a wide variety of external personnel. These personnel include but are not limited to Surgeons/Clinicians, O.R. Staff, Purchasing, Administration, Biomed, Infection Control, Central Sterile and other Departments who have decision-making authority on the usage and purchase of Alcon product(s) within the following environments: Hospitals, Teaching Institutions, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Corporate Account Entities.
- Initiate current and future sales opportunities by educating and building business/professional relationships within major instructing hospitals and academic programs and associated hospitals
- Facilitate the strategic training and education of our vitreoretinal equipment and consumable portfolio to deliver accurate DFU and company messaging to key physicians/residents/fellows to drive present/future advocates of Alcon's surgical products
- Coordinator of all vitreoretinal wet lab and training activities across all Alcon functional groups
- Manages expenses within prescribed guidelines
- Implement Vitreoretinal Marketing Brand Plans as advised
- Facilitate demo processes to drive capital equipment and pull-through consumable sales
- Maintain territory administrative records as advised per appropriate IT CRM systems
- Coordinate joint selling opportunities with Cataract and Refractive teammates
- Support and implement Corporate Account contracts
- Coordinate service repairs for the equipment and reporting of any quality issues from Alcon’s vitreoretinal portfolio to Medical Safety
- Physical ability to transport equipment in and out of surgical facilities for demo purposes
- Ability to meet routine overnight travel requirements given expansive geographies
- Accessible to external customers for routine after hours communications (evenings/weekends) to assist with Alcon vitreoretinal technology questions and needs due to emergency/trauma surgery
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 2 Years Proven Experience
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- Strong medical device sales experience
- Consultant experiences for high end medical consumables or capital equipment
