Responsible for greeting all Visitors Center guests and providing comprehensive information on Georgetown to assure a quality experience and to encourage repeat visitation.Applicants should submit a cover letter & resume.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Greets all visitors and provides comprehensive information to ensure a quality experience in Georgetown.
Assists with incoming calls as needed, recording requests for information, and forwarding to the appropriate person.
Assists with the processing of incoming brochures and assemble goody bags as required.
Handles retail sale items in the gift shop portion of the Visitors Center.
Acquires knowledge regarding Georgetown's history, visitor attractions, hotels, restaurants, etc., and is familiar with all collateral material and merchandise in the Visitors Center.
Assists in maintaining the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) general phone line.
Assists with special events and activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training and Experience Guidelines
High school graduate, or equivalent. Six (6) months of customer service or public contact. OR Any combination of experience, education, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Cash handling skills, preferred
Knowledge of:
Customer service practices and procedures.
Money handling practices and procedures.
City policies and procedures.
Skill in:
Effective communications, both oral and in writing.
Using a computer and various software programs.
Reading and understanding technical instruction manuals for software and other equipment.
Composing text using standard business English and proper grammar.
Performing mathematical calculations to make change and balance accounts.
Solving problems that arise during special events and on a daily basis in the Visitors Information Center.
Interacting with a variety of individuals by phone and in person.
Creating a welcoming environment.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking, crouching, bending, use of foot controls
Average hours worked: 16, weekly.
Hiring Range: $15.86 - $19.86, hourly.
