About Founders Classical Academy Online

Founders Classical Academy Online (FCA Online) is part of the Founders Classical Academies network within the ResponsiveEd family of schools. Guided by the motto Scientia, Virtus, et Libertas (“Knowledge, Virtue, and Liberty”), FCA Online provides a rigorous classical education rooted in the liberal arts and sciences. Our mission is to cultivate wisdom and virtue in students through the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness within a distinctly classical and character-forming environment. Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

Eligibility: Open to residents of Texas

Position Summary

The 6th–9th Grade History Teacher will serve as an essential member of the faculty, helping students explore the great narrative of human history from the ancient world through the foundations of the American republic. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of historical content, a love for the liberal arts, and the ability to guide students in the habits of disciplined inquiry, moral reflection, and eloquent expression.

  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, virtue, and respectful discourse.
  • Assess and track student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures.
  • Maintain strong communication with students and families, supporting academic achievement and community connection in the virtual setting.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and professional development aligned with the Founders mission.
  • Integrate technology in ways that support learning while preserving the contemplative, text-centered nature of classical study.

  • Demonstrated commitment to classical education and the formation of virtue

Preferred:

    • Texas Teaching Certification (Social Studies 4–8, 7–12, or comparable)
    • Master’s degree in History, Liberal Arts, or Education
