We’re seeking a video and social media producer who is passionate about the news and looking to tell stories that resonate with audiences in the rapidly-evolving world of digital media.
Position Description
· Pitch, develop and produce video content ranging from vertical videos to podcasts
· Manage NewsNation's YouTube channel and social channels, reaching millions of followers from TikTok to Facebook
· Develop multimedia storytelling in collaboration with editors, writers and reporters
· Use emerging technologies to produce content and engage with audiences
· Keep up to date on the latest trends and emerging stories to share with the larger team
· Train staff members on social media best practices, use of social tools and other tactics
Qualifications
· Experience creating video and social content for large brands or news media outlets
· Expertise in managing video content on YouTube, including thumbnail and title best practices preferred
· Strong writing skills and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice
· Good editorial judgement in content selection and adaptation based on the platform
· Ability to quickly edit video and photos in high-pressure situations
· Knowledge of data and analytics and demonstrated ability to use that data to make decisions
· Good communicator who can work collaboratively
· Experience using Adobe Suite, including Premier and Photoshop, preferred
· Journalism or news background preferred but not required
· Experience producing for or directing on-camera talent a plus
This position is in-office in our Chicago location. Early morning, late night and/or weekend shifts may be required
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
