An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President Talent and Organisational Effectiveness to join the Civil Aerospace Team in Derby or London.
The VP Talent & Organisational Effectiveness is accountable for shaping and delivering the talent, organisation design, and workforce strategy for Civil Aerospace.
This role ensures the business has the leadership capability, organisational structure, and workforce model required to deliver performance and long-term growth.
Acting as a strategic partner to the Civil Aerospace leadership team, the role focuses on organisational effectiveness, leadership capability, and transformation, aligning people, processes, and strategy to enable sustainable execution.
What you will be doing:
Strategic Partnership & Execution
- Act as a strategic partner to the Civil Aerospace leadership team, aligning people priorities with business strategy and performance outcomes
- Ensure organisational goals, operating models, and structures are aligned to enable sustainable execution and growth
- Bring challenge, insight, and perspective to leadership discussions, influencing key business decisions
- Translate enterprise people priorities into practical, scalable solutions for the business
Organisational Effectiveness & Design
- Diagnose organisational challenges and lead organisation design and effectiveness interventions
- Align structures, governance, and ways of working to improve performance, collaboration, and accountability
- Use data and insight to identify organisational trends and drive continuous improvement
- Develop and deploy playbooks, tools, and frameworks to enable consistent execution across the business
Talent & Workforce Strategy
- Strengthen the talent supply chain, improving succession bench strength for leadership and critical roles
- Define and deliver build, buy, borrow strategies to close capability gaps
- Lead strategic workforce planning to ensure future capability and capacity requirements are met
Leadership & Capability Development
- Coach senior leaders to improve decision-making, leadership effectiveness, and team performance
- Embed leadership expectations and behaviours aligned to business priorities
- Support leadership teams in navigating complex and sensitive challenges, strengthening overall capability
Transformation & Delivery
- Lead the delivery of people and organisational initiatives supporting business transformation
- Develop and oversee execution plans, timelines, and governance, ensuring delivery against priorities
- Coordinate activity across HR specialist teams and People Partners to ensure aligned and integrated delivery
Culture, Engagement & Performance
- Promote a positive, high-performance culture aligned to our Purpose & Behaviours
- Use engagement, wellbeing, and organisational data to diagnose issues and drive targeted action plans
- Ensure leaders are equipped to create environments where people can perform at their best
Stakeholder & Governance
- Provide clear, regular updates on progress to senior stakeholders and governance forums
- Ensure alignment across HR and business stakeholders, acting as a connector across specialist teams and the business
- Operate as a trusted advisor at senior level, with strong credibility and influence
Preferred requirements:
- Significant experience in talent, organisation effectiveness, and workforce strategy within a complex, global environment
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic partner to senior leadership teams
- Strong experience in organisation design, workforce planning, and transformation delivery
- Ability to translate strategy into practical, scalable execution
- Strong data-driven mindset, using insight to inform decisions and drive outcomes
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level
- Proven experience of driving D&I across talent, leadership and organisational strategy.
