The Vice President, Research, Innovation and Education reports to the Executive Vice President Chief Research and Academic Officer and is accountable to the mission and goals of Cleveland Clinic. The Vice President, Research, Innovation and Education is the key executive responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction and oversight of enterprise areas engaged in basic, translational and clinical research, academic medical and allied healthcare education and training, and technology transfer of Cleveland Clinic inventions.
In partnership with the Executive Vice President Chief Research and Academic Officer team, this leader develops and executes strategy to achieve key enterprise-wide objectives. Additionally, this caregiver provides leadership of change management efforts in relation to growth, strategy execution, FTE management and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:
Provide strategic vision and executive leadership for research, innovation and educational portfolios, aligning with Cleveland Clinic’s mission, values and enterprise-wide goals.
Lead the development, execution and continuous improvement of research, innovation and education strategy, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and collaboration across all Cleveland Clinic global locations.
Work collaboratively with senior leaders to implement operational excellence, financial stewardship, clear communication and change management initiatives that support growth and strategic transformation.
Forge and nurture dynamic partnerships with external stakeholders, including government, industry, nonprofit organizations, and global partners to expand resources, drive innovation and amplify community impact.
Foster a culture of growth through career development, mentorship, capacity building and meaningful staff engagement.
Uphold the highest standards of research integrity, ethics, and compliance while fostering an environment that values everyone’s perspectives with open dialogue.
Minimum qualifications:
Master or Doctoral degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health, Education, Law or a related field
A minimum of 15 years of professional and functionally relevant experience, including a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated leadership or management experience. An additional 5 years of experience may offset the degree requirement.
Demonstrated experienced in leadership roles relating to research and/or educational administration and/or operational oversight at the department, institute or enterprise level, preferably within a major academic medical center, complex healthcare organization or global biotech/pharmaceutical firm
Experience in developing or oversight of global or market-based research and/or global or market-based educational partnerships
Strong working knowledge of compliance, ethics and regulatory requirements and educational accreditation requirements
