We invite Postdoctoral Research Fellow applications from highly motivated individuals for a position centered on interdisciplinary, solutions-oriented conservation research and graduate training within the new Collaborative Conservation Leadership (CCL) program at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to lead their own dynamic, solutions-focused, partner-engaged research project, and to contribute to training, mentorship, and leadership development for CCL graduate students.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and conduct a solutions-oriented conservation research project in collaboration with a non-academic partner and one or more IBioS faculty members . The candidate will be an integral part of creating a collaborative and inclusive training environment and cohort-building experience for CCL trainees. Their duties will include co-organizing a weekly seminar series with other IBioS staff (to include student talks, partner talks and professional development activities), and participating and helping to organize the Land-based learning experience focused on intercultural learning and ethical conservation. They will have opportunities to co-mentor graduate or undergraduate trainees aligning with their expertise, and to deliver a graduate training workshop on the topic of their choice.
