The Opportunity
The Vice President, Operations – Financial Messaging (FM) is a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for the end-to-end operational performance, resilience, and readiness of Bottomline’s Financial Messaging platforms, including GT, SWIFT, and FM SaaS offerings. These platforms operate in highly regulated, always-on environments where reliability, trust, and execution excellence are critical.
This role serves as the operational counterpart to VP, Engineering (FM), ensuring strategy translates into scalable, customer-ready outcomes. The VP, Operations is both strategic and hands-on—setting direction, building teams, and leading decisively during critical operational moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full operational accountability for FM platforms, including availability, incident management, release execution, and customer impact.
- Act as the ultimate escalation point for critical operational and customer-impacting issues.
- Establishbest-in-class standards for incident response, problem management, and executive communications.
- Drive operational readiness, release governance, and disciplined change management across GT, SWIFT, and SaaS platforms.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to balance delivery speed with operational safety and regulatory compliance.
- Lead customer operations and ensure a trusted, high-quality experience for strategic and regulated customers.
- Define and own FM operational KPIs and executive operating cadence.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global FM Operations leadership team.
- Serve as a core member of the FM leadership team and represent FM Operations in executive forums.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in operations, technology, or platform leadership roles.
- Senior leadership experience within enterprise software, SaaS, payments, or financial services technology environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, ora related technical discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience owning mission-critical, high-availability platformsoperating atglobal scale.
- Strong background in incident management, operational resilience, change governance, and service reliability.
- Demonstratedsuccess leading globally distributed teams and senior leaders.
- Experienceoperatingin regulated environments with strong risk, compliance, and customer expectations.
- Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
