What We Need:
Unified Partnerships seeks a highly respected senior executive to serve as Vice President, Military Recruitment, Readiness & Defense Partnerships. This leader must bring the credibility, strategic judgment, and fluency needed to engage SES leaders, general/flag officers, and senior uniformed and civilian officials across the Department of Defense and state military organizations.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Mandate -- the VP will operate at the nexus of:
National defense readiness and recruitment imperatives
Federal and state procurement environments
Modern media, audio, influencers, and culturally relevant communication
Enterprise collaboration and sustainable revenue growth
This leader must balance mission credibility with commercial rigor, aligning with today’s FAR expectations for efficiency, measurable outcomes, and proven commercial solutions.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Senior DoD & Military Engagement (SES / Flag-Level)
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior DoD civilians, general/flag officers, service recruiting commands, and state Adjutants General.
Demonstrate deep fluency in military culture, command structures, and decision‑making processes.
Advise on recruitment marketing strategies that strengthen readiness, support quality accessions, diversify talent pipelines, and sustain long‑term workforce health.
Represent Unified Partnerships with the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and mission alignment.
2. Business Development & Revenue Leadership
Lead revenue growth across federal and state military recruitment and readiness initiatives.
Develop opportunities for Unified Partnerships to serve as:
A strategic subcontractor to major advertising, creative, and media agencies, and small qualified primes
A selective prime contractor, when appropriate.
Shape capture strategies, win themes, and solution design for DoD and state recruitment contracts.
Identify long‑term contract vehicles, IDIQs, and key agency relationships that fuel sustained growth.
VPs and sales leadership
Government and commercial teams
Agency‑facing executives
Provide accurate DoD insights, procurement realities, and mission context to enhance pitches, proposals, and client engagements. Operate as a connector and force multiplier across the enterprise.
4. Strategic Media & Cultural Relevance Leadership
Articulate how UP's government campaign expertise + iHeartMedia’s national scale, localized reach, trusted platforms, influencer network, data, digital capabilities, and experiential ecosystem support modern recruitment needs.
Guide agencies and clients on best‑practice integration of:
Paid media & audio
Digital & social platforms
Influencers & talent
Culturally resonant content

Ensure cultural relevance is applied thoughtfully to reinforce trust with military audiences.
5. Agency Partnership & Subcontractor Excellence
Serve as a strategic value‑add partner to agencies holding DoD and state recruitment contracts.
Provide insight, audience intelligence, and executional confidence within compliant government environments.
Build long‑term partnerships that position Unified Partnerships as indispensable to agency success and contract renewals.
6. Thought Leadership & External Representation
Represent Unified Partnerships at defense, government, and industry forums focused on recruitment, readiness, workforce development, and national service.
Contribute responsible thought leadership on the future of military recruitment and media trust.
Serve as a credible ambassador of Unified Partnerships’ commitment to public service and national readiness.
What You'll Need:
Senior experience working directly with DoD, service branches, or defense‑related recruitment/communications programs.
Credibility to engage confidently with SES leaders, general/flag officers, and senior agency executives.
Proven success in federal and/or state government business development, particularly in marketing, communications, or recruitment.
Strong understanding of paid media, integrated campaigns, and modern media ecosystems.
Established reputation and network within military, government, and agency communities.
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without formal authority.
High emotional intelligence, discretion, and a mission‑first mindset.
Veteran or retired military leader strongly preferred.

Ease working with large or small agency c-suite and senior level executives and using influencing skills to negotiations and drive sales
Desire to stay abreast of emerging market trends and customer needs to expand relationships and trust
Confidence to solve complex problems using analysis, judgement and multiple sources of information
Accountability for your own work and a desire to provide guidance to new team members
Business development experience with new and existing customers
Compensation:
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for commissions.
