About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives on matters related to financial research, analysis, and reporting

  • Make decisions in multi-faceted situations, providing advice and technical expertise on matters related to complex financial analysis and forecasting as well as economic research in support of management decision making functions

  • Research strategies and make recommendations for forward financial planning as well as enhancing reporting systems to support the production of financial reporting and analysis

  • Provide support to more experienced professionals in the management of budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting and reviews, and presentation and project preparation

  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges that require evaluation or multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors

  • Make decisions in maintaining effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standards and internal control standards

  • Meet deliverables and drive new initiatives with solid understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and related tools.

  • Strong understanding of storytelling principles and ability to structure presentations for maximum impact.

  • Excellent visual design skills (color theory, typography, layout).

  • Ability to translate data and business insights into engaging stories.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Time management and ability to work under tight deadlines.


Job Expectations:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives across financial research, analysis, reporting, and executive storytelling, applying strong technical expertise and independent judgment to support business decision‑making.

  • Design and deliver high‑quality, visually compelling PowerPoint presentations that translate complex financial and strategic data into clear, engaging narratives; collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives, audience, and messaging, and develop cohesive storyboards and presentation flows aligned with brand and control standards.

  • Provide broad financial expertise across budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and economic research, supporting large‑scale planning, forward financial strategy, and monthly/quarterly management reporting.

  • Lead and support moderately complex projects impacting one or more lines of business, including the implementation of enhanced reporting frameworks and analytical processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and consistency.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues, enhance financial reporting and storytelling, and achieve organizational goals, while staying current on design trends, storytelling techniques, and analytical best practices.

  • Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva).

  • Familiarity with data visualization and narrative design.

  • Prior experience in corporate presentations, consulting, or marketing.
