Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST T32, PDD0964000 and is part of the AZ CFMO, National Guard.

Major Duties:

  • THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is located at the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO) in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose is to serve as the State ARNG Environmental Program Manager with responsibility for supervising and managing the state environmental program in conformance with Federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Serves as the focal point and technical expert to the Adjutant General; and provides advisory services to all units within the state regarding National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Installation Restoration Program (IRP), Air Quality, Water Quality, Hazardous Waste Management and various other environmental programs. Ensures that applicable Federal, state, and local environmental standards, regulations and laws are maintained. Assures compliance with policies, regulations, and Federal, state, and local statutes. Supervises technician and/or state personnel engaged in a variety of work directly related to the state environmental program.

Qualifications: Military Grades: Enlisted: E-7/SFC to E-8/MSG Warrant Officer: W-1/WO1 to W-3/CW3 Officer: O-1/2LT to O-3/CPT Compatible Military Assignments: Enlisted: MOS Immaterial Officer: Branch Immaterial Warrant Officer: MOS Immaterial SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade that provided experience, education or training demonstrating the knowledge of the principles, practices, and concepts of an environmental program sufficient to serve as the expert technical advisor on the various environmental programs. Experience demonstrating knowledge of environmental issues, problems and solutions regarding federal, state, rural and community environmental regulations. Experience in program planning or administration concerned with environmental protection or other activities related to environmental problems. Experience in an advisory or research capacity involving the creation of solutions to problems concerning environmental protection or other related activities. Experience using on-site investigation techniques, analysis of results and development of conclusions to insure conformance to environmental regulations.
