The Opportunity
We are seeking a Vice President, Global Treasury & Tax to join our executive leadership team. Reporting to the CFO, this pivotal role will shape Cochlear’s global financial strategy, balancing risk and opportunity across tax and treasury functions. You’ll lead a talented team (9) spanning Sydney and the EMEA region, and partner closely with senior leaders to ensure financial resilience and strategic agility in a complex, global environment.
What You’ll Do
Set the strategic direction for global treasury and tax, aligning with business objectives and risk appetite.
Drive treasury leadership: optimize debt and liquidity strategy, working capital, FX risk management, and banking relationships.
Provide tax governance and insight: oversee global tax compliance, transfer pricing, and R&D tax incentives.
Influence at the highest level: advise the CFO, CEO, and Board on financial risk, capital structure, and tax implications for major initiatives.
Lead and develop a global team, fostering capability and collaboration across regions.
Champion continuous improvement and digital transformation in treasury and tax processes.
About You
You are a seasoned finance leader with:
· 15+ years’ experience in tax and/or treasury within an ASX-listed or multinational environment.
· Proven ability to elevate treasury from operational to strategic, with strong understanding of liquidity, FX, and capital structure.
· Solid grounding in international tax principles and transfer pricing.
· Exceptional stakeholder management skills – from banks and regulators to executive peers.
· A collaborative, forward-thinking approach and passion for developing high-performing teams.
