Vice President, Finance Shared Services

Position Purpose:

The Vice President of Finance Shared Services will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the company’s enterprise-wide Finance Shared Services organization, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable and related financial transaction processes. This executive will drive the design and execution of scalable, technology-enabled processes that support organizational growth across SRS Distribution and its current and future verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of Accounts Payable operations across the multi-vertical enterprise, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute a shared services strategy that enables standardization, scalability, and operational excellence across finance functions.
  • Champion automation and technology adoption, including the integration of AI-driven tools to streamline workflows and enhance data visibility.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that optimize performance and strengthen financial controls.
  • Partner with executive leadership to plan and execute consolidation of financial operations, supporting growth across other future business verticals.
  • Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and performance metrics for the Shared Services organization.
  • Drive selection, implementation, and optimization of financial technology platforms in partnership with IT and other corporate functions.
  • Provide strategic oversight for additional shared service functions such as cash application, transaction taxes, and other financial operations as the organization evolves.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong partnerships with corporate departments, field operations, and vendor partners to ensure service delivery excellence.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Reports directly to the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer.
  • Leads a team of Finance professionals.
  • May oversee multiple functional managers responsible for discrete shared service operations.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel (up to 20%) may be required to company branches or shared service locations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment located at the SRS Distribution Headquarters in McKinney, TX.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of progressive finance or accounting leadership experience, with direct responsibility for Accounts Payable or Shared Services operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale process transformation or shared services initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, automation tools, and AI-enabled technologies.
  • Proven ability to develop strategy and lead change across complex, multi-entity organizations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive influencing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within distribution, construction materials, or similar multi-location industries.
  • Prior leadership of global or enterprise-level shared services teams and technology platforms.
  • Working knowledge of multiple ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or related discipline.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

Certifications:

  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.
