We have an opportunity for a Vice President, Corporate Development to join our Golden Valley, MN team. You will lead Pentair’s inorganic growth strategy, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, divestitures, and joint ventures. This executive will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing opportunities that align with the company’s long-term strategic priorities and enhancing shareholder value. The role requires deep financial acumen, strategic vision, and cross-functional leadership across business units, legal, finance, and operations.

You will:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Lead the development and execution of corporate development initiatives that support Pentair’s strategic growth objectives.
  • M&A Leadership: Source, evaluate, execute acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. Manage due diligence, valuation modeling, and integration planning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leadership across business units to identify strategic priorities and assess inorganic opportunities.
  • Financial Analysis & Modeling: Oversee financial modeling, synergy analysis, and valuation assessments. Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Deal Negotiation: Lead negotiations of transaction terms and structures in collaboration with legal counsel and external advisors.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain a robust network of industry contacts and monitor competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing corporate development team. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, both domestic and international.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or M&A consulting.
  • Proven track record of leading complex transactions and strategic initiatives.
  • Proven track record of lower middle market transaction execution.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, valuation methodologies, and corporate finance.
  • Experience in industrials, manufacturing, control systems, or water technologies preferred.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $206900 - $384200 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus and/or long-term incentives.
