Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is looking for a Vice President – Cash Management and Bilateral Lending Sales based out of Amsterdam (Netherlands).
OVERVIEW
In this role, you will be part of the GTB department, housed within Santander CIB,who serves as the central hub for originating transaction-driven opportunities across Cash Management, Basic Lending, Export Solutions, and Working Capital Solutions. GTB supports a broad and diverse client landscape, spanning Banking & Corporate Finance (BCF) and Multinationals and International Financial Institutions (IFI).
Within this platform, Cash Management, Liquidity & Lending team delivers a
comprehensive suite of treasury solutions designed to help corporates optimize the way they manage accounts, payments, collections, and liquidity - ensuring
operational efficiency and robust financial control. This team also handles bilateral loans (Revolving Credit Facilities, Term Loans, Overdrafts, Money Market Lines).
In this position, you will be responsible for the origination, structuring and
assistance in the execution of Cash Management mandates for large corporates in the Netherlands (Inbound) and in all other Santander geographies (outbound). You will report to the Head of Cash Management France & Benelux.
The Cash Management Sales will liaise with
Internal stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with the coverage team and other internal partners to shape and expand the Dutch cash-management proposition, ensuring we maximise GTB revenues from both existing and newly targeted clients.
- Work in partnership with the Global Cash Management team to leverage established relationships and product capabilities from other regions, enabling a consistent and seamless client experience across geographies.
- Engage and coordinate all relevant internal stakeholders—product, risk, legal, operations, onboarding, and relationship teams—to strengthen the overall sales effort and accelerate delivery of the Dutch cash-management strategy.
External Stakeholders
- Engage proactively with external clients and prospects across thevNetherlands to identify cash-management, bilateral lending needs, deepen relationships, and capture new revenue opportunities for GTB.
- Leverage our global network and established client relationships in other regions to introduce best-in-class cash-management solutions into the Netherlands, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience for multinational clients expanding into the region. It should be noted that there is an important element of Group interaction attached to the role of the Cash Management and Bilateral Lending Sales, requiring the ability to develop strong working relationships with management and colleagues throughout the Group in various countries.
JOB DESCRIPTION

- Leading the design, development and execution of Santander’s global and local cash management strategy across the Netherlands, positioning the bank as a trusted partner for corporates operating or expanding in the region.
- Providing specialist support to Coverage teams on complex, cross-border and strategic opportunities, offering expert structuring insight, market guidance, and commercially sound product recommendations.
- Establishing and nurture deep relationships with senior treasury and finance decision-makers, actively identifying areas where Santander’s global capabilities can bring meaningful value to large Dutch corporates and multinational organizations.
- Acting as the regional thought leader—combining commercial leadership, client engagement, product expertise and strategic oversight—to ensure Santander delivers a distinctive and competitive proposition.
- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of client proposals (for beauty parades and RfP), ensuring alignment with client needs and objectives.
- Driving growth within the global transactional segment by identifying opportunities to expand our footprint, strengthen client engagement, and enhance the competitiveness of our transactional cash-management offering.
- Strengthening collaboration across GTB and SCIB areas - particularly through aligning product, sales, and operational teams, ensuring coordinated delivery, improved client experience and maximized revenue opportunities.

Profesional Experience
- Substantial (8 years or more) experience in Cash Management is preferred. Ideally, this experience will have been gained with a first-class international bank extending Cash Management solutions to the region or possibly from third party providers for Cash Management System Solutions. Experience of commercial situations involving Cash Management, Liquidity Management, etc.: (Required)
- A sound understanding of Payment Systems (SEPA; EBA) and SWIFT Methodology related to payments. (Required)
- Experience in use of Different Pooling Structures: Zero Balancing, Notional Pooling, Cinderella Sweep, etc. (Required)
- Experience of working with global operating Corporates and specific Payment requirements in different Payment areas within the EUR Zone.(Required)
- A sound grasp of local law in relation to payments, account structures, pooling structures. (required)
- A strong understanding of commercial and financial documentation. (Required)
- Strong links and contacts with banks, legal practices, Cash Management System Providers, etc. (Required)
Education
- A high general level of education is required (Master of Science) and the successful candidate is very likely to hold qualifications in banking, finance, or economics. (Required)
Languages
- Fluent English (Required)
- Fluent local language(Preferred)
- Spanish and/or any other additional European language within Europe is added value.(Prefered)

- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).(Required)
