The Vice President Business Development (VPBD) will be responsible for driving sales of Corebridge retirement plans in the Midwest territory (IL, IN, MI, KY, MO, KS, NE, CO, IA, WI, MN, ND, SD). The VPBD will work directly with key contacts at plan sponsor prospects and through intermediary retirement plan consultants to generate sales

Position Requirements:

  • Develop and maintain robust sales pipeline capable of generating consistent sales at target
  • Prospect for new business opportunities via direct contact with prospects and consultants, developing relationships with centers of influence, and through national and regional industry meetings and conferences.
  • Lead presentation team on all finalist presentations for new business within your territory.
  • Attend internal and external national and regional association meetings, consultant meetings, and brokerage firm meetings for the purpose of deepening relationships with existing clients and expanding relationships with prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with RFP Unit and Pricing to craft compelling proposals/pricing
  • Maintain up to date data in CRM: sales prospecting, deal management, consultant engagement, etc

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience prospecting for new business opportunities with proven results in the not-for-profit markets (Government, K-12, Healthcare, Higher Education, Religious, Charitable, and Cultural organizations).  Government experience is strongly preferred

• 5+ years of experience selling products and services for mid and large 401(a), 403(b) and 457(b) plans.
• Experience working directly with plan sponsor C level executives.
• Ability to identify opportunities and needs in existing programs and implement corresponding Corebridge solutions
• Solid understanding of qualified and non-qualified pension markets.
• Understanding of pricing dynamics and ability to effectively craft a compelling proposal.
• Exceptional negotiation and sales skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions.
• Strong presentation skills.
• College Degree.
• FINRA Series 6 or 7, 63 or 65 and state insurance licenses.
• Ability to travel in territory 50% of the time.
