Vice President, AI Business Development & Partnerships

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, AI Business Development and Partnerships will lead the development and execution of AccuWeather’s global AI partnership strategy. This executive will be responsible for identifying, structuring, negotiating, and scaling strategic partnerships that leverage AccuWeather’s proprietary weather data, AI capabilities, and technology platforms to drive revenue growth, product innovation, and global market expansion.

This role will focus specifically on artificial intelligence ecosystems including large language model providers, cloud platforms, enterprise AI solution providers, and emerging AI native companies. The VP will work cross functionally across Product, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Finance to translate AccuWeather’s AI assets into high impact commercial partnerships that accelerate growth and reinforce AccuWeather’s leadership in Superior Accuracy and innovation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the global AI business development strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives and AccuWeather’s AI and data roadmap.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and close strategic AI partnerships including LLM platforms, generative AI companies, enterprise SaaS providers, hyperscale cloud partners, and data licensing partners.
  • Develop revenue generating AI data licensing agreements leveraging proprietary weather datasets, real time forecasting systems, and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Structure complex commercial agreements including data licensing, revenue share, API partnerships, co-development agreements, and joint go to market initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product and Technology leadership to translate AI capabilities into scalable commercial offerings and partner ready solutions.
  • Build and maintain senior executive relationships across the AI and technology ecosystem to position AccuWeather as the preferred weather intelligence and environmental data partner.
  • Lead cross functional deal teams through evaluation, diligence, financial modeling, negotiation, and execution processes.
  • Monitor AI market trends, competitive landscape, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to inform partnership strategy and investment priorities.
  • Develop and mentor a high performing AI focused business development team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or corporate development, with significant focus on AI, data, or technology driven businesses.
    • Demonstrated track record of structuring and closing complex strategic partnerships involving AI platforms, data licensing, APIs, or enterprise technology solutions.
    • Experience negotiating multiyear commercial agreements with global technology companies.
    • Strong financial acumen including experience building business cases, revenue models, and partnership frameworks.

 

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience working with large language model providers, generative AI companies, or hyperscale cloud platforms.
    • Background in data driven businesses, analytics platforms, SaaS, automotive technology, connected devices, or digital media.
    • Experience commercializing proprietary datasets in AI training, inference, or enterprise decision support environments.
    • Global deal making experience across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
